My name is Alejandro (Al) Ortiz and I’m the Assistant Project Director of ballot measures on Ballotpedia. I work on statewide ballot measures, ranging from legislatively-referred constitutional amendments, legislatively-referred state statutes, initiated constitutional amendments, initiated state statutes, indirect initiated state statutes and indirect initiated constitutional amendments. I am a graduate of Syracuse University and obtained a B.A. in Writing and Rhetoric. Before attending college in the north, I was born in the treacherous and blistering heat of San Antonio, Texas and was raised in McAllen, Texas, where 95 degrees meant we were in the middle of cold front. I’m a huge country music fan and also like to dabble in some classic rock. In addition, I follow sports. To me, though, there is nothing better than playing or watching the great game of football.
