Recall laws

An effort to recall three of the five Prairieville Township board members was initiated in October 2009. Targeted members include: Supervisor Jim Stoneburner, Clerk Jill Owens and Trustee William Miller. Township treasurer Deb Newhouse is not eligible to be recalled because she has been in office less than six months.[1]

The official recall petition filed by Barry County residents alleges that the board is guilty of "negligent spending, violating the Michigan Open Meetings Act and Freedom of Information Act and general irresponsible governing."[1]

Path to the ballot
