On November 4, 2008, Roberts ran for the Carroll District 3 of the New Hampshire House of Representatives, winning the first of three seats with 2,844 votes, ahead of Susan Wiley (D) with 2,581 votes, Mark McConkey (R) with 2,393 votes, Virginia Heard (D) with 2,139 votes, Howard N Cunningham (D) with 2,088 votes, Donald McGarity (R) with 1,935 votes and 8 votes for others.
