An effort to recall Travis Chandler and Linda Strickland from their positions on the Boulder City, Nevada, city council was launched in 2008 and blocked by a judge in 2010. The effort was initiated in 2008 but after a ruling by the Colorado Secretary of State the recall effort was deemed invalid. However, in a December 11, 2009 ruling by 1st District Court Judge James Russell the recall effort was approved to move forward.[1][2] The Nevada Supreme Court blocked the recall effort in July 2010. [3]

Path to the ballot

In order to place the measure on the ballot, recall supporters are required to collect signatures from a minimum of 25% of voters who cast ballots in the previous election.

Election costs

A recall election is estimated to cost the city approximately $20,000.[4]
