JEFFERSON CITY, Missouri: This week the Missouri House approved a proposed constitutional amendment that calls for new guidelines for placing wildlife or hunting initiatives on the statewide ballot. The House voted 131-27 in approval, however, before referring the measure to the November 2, 2010 statewide ballot, the measure must be approved by the Senate and the General Assembly as a whole. The proposed measure would require a four-sevenths majority instead of a majority to approve initiatives that call for changing the Missouri Constitution or laws regarding hunting, fishing or forestry.[1][2]
