There's an independent but very relevant project:
Goal
- A high-quality, very informative article for every statewide ballot measure that has ever been on a statewide ballot anywhere in the United States.
- A summary article, by year, of all statewide ballot measures on the ballot anywhere in the United States that year. Example: 2008 ballot measures.
- A summary article, by topic, of all statewide ballot measures that relate to a particular political topic. Example: Transportation initiatives.
- A summary article, by year/state, of all statewide ballot measures on the ballot in a certain year/state (such as Arizona 2006 ballot measures).

Analysis projects
This section highlights project ideas that are still pending. In other words, these projects have been tested in one state and can be replicated in various states or they have been started and still have yet to be completed.
- Ballot measures approved with an 80% vote or more

- Voter turnout and registration in Texas

This page contains a list of ballot measure articles that need to be updated, including: state, local, measures "not on the ballot," recall, lawsuit and law articles.
Project templates
There are some basic templates in use in the project; these include:
- Template:User WikiProject State Ballot Measures. This is a user participation badge (see below) which any editors/contributors to this project are encouraged to place on their user page.
- {{WikiProject State Ballot Measures}} is a template that should be placed on the Help:Talk page|"talk" or "discussion" page associated with any articles in the project. That identifies the article as belonging to this project and makes it easier to organize the project. {Note that articles can belong to more than one WikiProject.) The shortcut is {{sbm}}
