Jimmy Ardis is a political reporter and writer for Ballotpedia. He joined Ballotpedia in August 2010 to cover state legislative elections, state legislators and state legislatures.Ardis comes to Ballotpedia with a diverse background in the public and private sectors. Most recently, he cofounded and lead a research and consulting firm based in Charleston, SC. Prior to that he worked as a research associate at The Riley Center for Urban Affairs and Policy Analysis at the College of Charleston. Ardis started his career by serving for six years in the United States Air Force, working in the aviation and emergency management fields.
Ardis studied Business as an undergraduate at UMUC while living in Turkey. He went on to earn a Masters of Public Administration at the College of Charleston.
Originally from South Carolina, he circled the globe for seven years before returning to his current home in Charleston, where he lives with his wife Alisha and their newborn daughter, Celia.
