In his position, Pallay serves as director for the teams working on state legislatures and U.S. Congress.
On the state legislative project, Pallay oversees the four writers on the State Legislative team, which covers the 7,384 state legislators as well as all elections and chamber-related activity in the 50 states. In addition to his work on the state legislative team, Pallay runs the Redistricting project, which features pages on the re-mapping process in all 50 states. For that project, Pallay edits a weekly feature called Redistricting Roundup, which details the week's events pertaining to redistricting. That report is published on Friday afternoons at 2 p.m. CST.
Prior to joining Ballotpedia in June 2010, Pallay was a policy analyst for the South Carolina Policy Council, where he covered a number of issues including the state budget.
Originally from New Jersey, Pallay spent 8 years in the south, studying Journalism and History at Emory University before earning a Masters in Public Administration at the College of Charleston.
Pallay lives in Boston, Massachusetts where his wife is a resident at Tufts University Medical Center.
